Burgas, in Bulgaria was initially founded by Thracian tribes many centuries before Christ. When the Roman Empire stretched out its power to the area, the Roman emperor Vespasian changed its name to Deultum and transformed it into a retirement settlement for Roman legionnaires. The colony urbanized and ultimately added the mineral springs Northwest of it as a curative community or wellness centre, called Aqua Kalidae. The name Burgas or Bourgas was taken in the 17th. century after the emancipation from the Ottoman Turkish Empire.
In the summer time you are able to go surfing and kite-surfing in the bay. There are a few surf and sea sports schools, which you can find on the beaches. You can also book diving. And there are many little islands close to Burgas, the Bulgarian town of Burgas has its own airport and sea port, as well as numerous bus routes/terminals to get you round and houses, properties all for sale.
